Puppy Class (for puppies under 20 weeks old):
In this class we will discuss typical puppy training issues such as house training, chewing, crate training, and more. Puppy playtime and socialization will be included. Introduction to basic manners and husbandry procedures will also be covered. Class is 6 weeks long with each class being approximately 45 minutes. For more information about proper puppy socialization please visit the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's position statement.
Good Manners (Basic Obedience) Class (for dogs over 5 months):
This class is appropriate for dogs over five months old. Dogs will learn sit, down, stay, come when called, walk politely on leash, and leave it, among other things. We will also discuss changing behaviors such as jumping, counter surfing, and excessive barking. Class is 6 weeks long with each class running approximately 50 minutes.
Good Manners 2 Class (for dogs over 5 months):
This class is appropriate for dogs over five months old. You and your dog must have passed either the basic obedience/good manners course offered through Happy Hound University or passed a basic obedience class through another positive training program, please email or call to discuss. This is the class most dogs will progress to after Good Manners 1. We take the concepts learned in that class and build on it, proofing behaviors for real life scenarios and prepping for advanced manners.
"Real Life Skills"
This class is appropriate for dogs over five months old. You and your dog must have passed either the basic obedience/good manners course (ideally good manners 2 as well) offered through Happy Hound University or passed a basic obedience class through another positive training program, please email to inquire about enrollment in this class.
In this class we will practice the test items for the Canine Good Citizenship test as well as Canine Life and Social Skills test. This class is an excellent way to build on foundational skills taught in basic obedience class and focus on continuing your dog's education.
