In-Home Puppy Training

Did you recently bring home a new puppy? With potty training, crate training, chew training, and socialization, are you wondering where to start? Let me take the guesswork out of training your new puppy!

"I am a first time puppy owner. I did a lot of research before taking Auggie home with me at 8 weeks old. Mary was highly recommended for her personal dog training skills. Two days after taking him home we had our first training with her, and we immediately bonded with her. Auggie is almost 5 months old now, and we are still learning so much from her. We absolutely adore her, and highly recommend her!"

Why private puppy training?

Private puppy training allows me to work one on one with you on the issues you are facing that day. Instead of having to wait until week three of a group class syllabus  to discuss how to get your socks away from your 12 week old we can discuss the most pressing issues when they're happening to give you the solutions you need when you need them.

How does it work?

Each new puppy client will schedule an hour long foundation lesson with me. At this first lesson we will discuss typical puppy behavior, how to socialize your puppy appropriately and safely, any issues you may be having, and typical puppy discussion items such as chew training, potty training, and crate training.

At the initial consult we will discuss approximately how many sessions you might need and which package of follow up lessons to purchase

Pricing and Packages

Each initial foundation lesson is purchased as a stand alone and is $175.00 for an hour plus detailed follow up notes and homework from our session.

Follow up lessons are about 45 minutes long. Follow up packages are priced as follows:

  • 3 sessions for $465: Ideal for: Experienced puppy owners (this isn't your first rodeo!) with a few questions.

  • 5 sessions for $750:  My most popular package. Ideal for: a complete good manners experience with a focus on puppy topics.

  • 8 sessions for $1,160:  Ideal for: the complete puppy package! This package allows us enough time to cover basic manners at home and in the real world as well as discuss all of the typical puppy "issues". The 8 session package can also carry you into adolescence which tends to be the most challenging time in a puppy's life.

What's included?

Each consult and session includes handouts and homework notes in PDF format sent to your email account within 72 hours of your session. Notes include a step-by-step breakdown of each behavior we worked on during that session, solutions to any problem behaviors you're working on, and training tips and suggestions on how to practice.

Each purchased package also includes email and text correspondence at no additional charge between sessions. I'm always happy to discuss any troubles you may be having via email or phone.

And lastly, you have the knowledge that I will do my best to work with you and your puppy to find efficient, humane solutions to any behaviors you may be having trouble with, all while having fun and building your relationship in the process.

"We love Mary and our dog Wallas loves Mary! After 18 years of caring for 3 other Keeshond rescues we decided to try a Keeshond puppy!! Wow what a lot of work! However Mary started working with us when he was barely 2-1/2 months old. Now 2-1/2 months later he is crate trained, house trained, going on loose leash walks, doing impressive sit, stays, downs and...leave it's! Mary is a delight to work with. She understands a dogs perspective on life and easily communicates that understanding to both the dog trainees and the dog owners. We are so happy Mary helped us through this summer. Obviously we highly recommend Mary to anyone looking for a first class trainer."
